My time is mine.Tonight, I had a IM fight with an associate. He seems to think that I can design stuff for clients with only half the information. My point is that I've been waiting on text for three months, and I'd rather not have to do work twice. the sticky thing is that he was one of my favorite people before we started having a professional relationship. And since I don't bill him by the hour, literally every extra hour of work that he costs me is NO benefit to me, and only goes toward making sure that I never get time off. I hate fighting with him. I wish we could just go grab a martini and forget the whole fracking thing. No time left for...Oh. Someone is in very big trouble. Bad boyfriend. Very very bad boyfriend. The worst part is, that this seems to be a song with so many verses that I've quit counting. I don't know whether the problem is that I've got a broken record player or whether the cd really is that crummy. The double-worst part is that it will be a week before real resolution can happen. Note to self: Upon departure, pack Tums EX. Upon return, wear whip-weilding gloves. What's wrong with us?America has become the land of the lawyer. We're such an immature bunch of snivelling, whiny, irresponsible toddlers that it seems everyone has an attorney these days. You get one toe out of line, and we go running for council the way your kid sister used to go get daddy if you told her she had to follow the rules. What happened to the time when a person took their word seriously? What happened to people who cared about doing what they said - not because they were afraid of getting sued - but because it was right. One day, did our collective conscience have, like, a stroke or something? Does it now sit in a motorized wheelchair, mumbling to us incoherently about ethics. We,the class of Kindergarteners from hell, can't hear. It seems like everyone is hoarding crayons and stealing toys and crying for Mommy and Daddy to discipline the other person. God forbid that you came to school ready to share and play fair. You'd be taken faster than the Hope Diamond sitting unguarded at the Kleptomaniacs' convention. I mean, thank God we have lawyers, right? (Did I ever think I'd say that? No.) But deep down inside, I wish that our collective conscience would get up and kick a few asses. So, it comes to this. www.terrisfight.netAt 12:01, the fate of a young woman will be decided. Her only crime against society is that she can't feed herself. That, and the fact that she doesn't have a high enough level of awareness for her dirty money-grubbing husband. There's nothing radical going on in her hospital room. No "extreme" life saving measures. Her heart continues to beat. Her lungs continue suck in air. Her brain pulses. Other than her dependence on an outside source for food, how is this woman different than you? Or me? Or your wife?
Infants are dependant on others for food. So are many disabled and "severly retarded" individuals. What of them? Are all innocents now subject to the whims of the courts and their care givers? Does a mother who gives birth to a severly disabled child now have the right to allow that helpless human to slowly expire? My God! But somehow, even though people are lined up around the block to care for her, the courts say that her husband can prevent her from being fed. Incidentally, in Florida, even animals have more rights. It's against the law to allow an animal that you own to starve to death. It's cruel, you see. But somehow, a husband can starve his wife, and that's less cruel? Are we mad? What an Alice-In-Wonderland-world-up-side-down situation this is! Democrats, the party of the down-and-out, the party that supposedly defends those who are down on their luck - are defending a husband's right to starve his wife! For insurance money?!?! Where are the feminists? Where are those who battle hunger around the world? Where are those who champion humane-ness? Where are those who claim to defend those who can't defend themselves? Where are they? They've dumped their values to play party politics. They're standing before Congress reciting the Democrat party line. They've lined up to pay their dues and kiss the rings on the hands of their leaders. They've turned into pussies who do what the democrat leadership tells them too. God forgive them, because I don't think I can. |
